Did you know that the construction sector accounts for over 40% of global energy consumption, according to the World Green Building Council? For many professionals, this signals the urgency of adopting smarter and less polluting solutions.
But how can this concern turn into real practice?
In the Sustainable Materials 2025 sessions, presented over three live classes, the content goes beyond theoretical concepts.
Class 1 explores trends and opportunities, showing how eco-friendly materials can reduce operational costs without compromising performance.
Class 2 provides a step-by-step practical guide, including methodologies and tools to integrate sustainable solutions into projects of different scales.
Class 3 focuses on making a real impact—covering leadership strategies in sustainability and networking with partners committed to eco-friendly practices.
Adopting innovative materials like biomaterials and high-performance insulators is not always simple. Cost barriers and feasibility doubts still exist, but successful case studies show that a long-term vision pays off. It is possible to save resources, reduce waste, and create healthier buildings for occupants.
My biggest learning experience was realizing that sustainability is not just a buzzword. When I first tried replacing conventional materials with renewable options, I faced resistance from suppliers.
Only after presenting life cycle studies and examples of successful projects did I begin to gain trust and attract clients. Today, I see that change requires persistence but also creates unprecedented opportunities for those who anticipate future demands.
Are you ready to rethink what and how you build?
Green Building Day 5
Pre-Sale Ends in February

Green Building Day 5 is more than just an event—it's a milestone for the future of sustainable construction worldwide.
Have you ever considered how small changes in our construction practices can create a global impact? On July 11 and 12, professionals and industry leaders will gather at the iconic Memorial da América Latina to explore innovative solutions and sustainable practices that are already transforming the market.

Event lobby, designed by Oscar Niemeyer and inaugurated in 1989.
Imagine a day filled with discussions ranging from project decarbonization to the conscious use of materials and smart technologies, all without getting lost in technical jargon. The event’s format—featuring workshops, business networking rounds, and interactive panels—is designed to bridge knowledge with real-world applications, helping you turn challenges into tangible opportunities.
With a global audience and international speakers, Green Building Day 5 is a unique opportunity to connect with the latest trends shaping the future of construction. As sustainability takes center stage at COP30 and beyond, events like this highlight the urgent need for innovation, collaboration, and real action in the industry.
Sustainability Innovations
Bee Bricks: Innovation with Challenges
Did you know that new buildings in Brighton, England, are becoming true biodiversity sanctuaries?
Amid challenges and debates, innovative bricks—known as Bee Bricks—are being integrated into buildings over 5 meters high to provide shelter for solitary bees, essential for pollination and urban ecosystem balance.
Developed by the British company Green&Blue, this solution uses concrete made from 75% recycled materials. These bricks feature small openings designed to offer a safe home for bees, helping to expand their habitats in urban areas.
However, like any innovation, the idea faces criticism: some experts warn that the cavities might attract pests or even be used as a greenwashing tactic, masking bigger environmental problems.

The beauty of this initiative lies in its ability to spark important discussions. In a world where construction often clashes with nature, the Bee Brick proposes a new perspective—it reminds us that even in modern architecture, we can and should embrace sustainability. This brick is not just a structural component but also an invitation to rethink the relationship between urbanization and the environment.
While the effectiveness of the Bee Brick depends on factors such as installation height—it must be at least half a meter above the ground and near green areas to truly benefit bees—this idea is already inspiring professionals, students, and entrepreneurs to seek solutions that integrate sustainability into daily construction practices.
