Floatin Terrasses (IN): an example of Biophilia in achitecture

Living in a space where well-being feels as natural as breathing. That is the essence of the Floating Terrasses project, envisioned in India in collaboration with Studio Symbiosis Architects and with UGREEN’s consultancy.

In this project, we were responsivle for the design concept and biophilic strategies, ensuring that every detail connected residents to nature — from natural light to the sound of water, from organic forms to materials that awaken the senses.

But after all, what is biophilic design ?

Biophilia is the natural instict to seek connection with nature. Biophilic design transforms this instinct into architecture, creating environments that promote health, focus, creativity, and emotional well-being.

In the case of Floating Terrasses, UGREEN’s consultancy proposed solutions such as:

  • Wide views of green areas and water features;

  • Use of native vegetation with striking aromas and textures;

When we hear about environmental and/or social crimes, we usually think of something done in secret, right ? But the reality is far more complex: many of the practices that destroy ecosystems, exploit communities, and accelerate global warming actually happen within the law.

Yes, you read that right? some of the greatest environmental violations of our time are, in fact, allowed by weak legislation or legal loopholes. And this raises a question: is legality really the same as justice ?
